  • Only the Second HSU softball player to earn All-Conference honors all 4 years
  • Second all-time in career hits at HSU with 187
  • A Four-year starter for HSU playing 211 games.

  • Jim Mack and Jimmie Sawyer Academic Scholarship Award: This is an annual award presented to the HSU HPER student who displays academic success, athletic success, leadership and character.

Community involvement

  • HPER CLUB PRESIDENT: (Health Physical Education Recreation leadership position for Physical Education/Recreation majors at HSU.)
  • KAPPA DELTA PHI: (Honor Society in Education leadership position for Education majors at HSU.)
  • HOMECOMING COURT: Represented the HPER Club and was voted by the entire student body as a “Top Five” in the 2010 Homecoming Court.
  • REDDIE TO SERVE: Community clean-up lead by VP Shepherd. (Yard work, painting, cleaning, good-will.)
  • REDDIE TO SERVE: Degray Lake Clean up lead by US Army Corps of Engineers. (Shoreline Clean-up.)
  • REDDIE TO READ: Reading program in the Arkadelphia public schools. (Perritt Elementary.)
  • REDDIE TO HELP: Winter Wonderland project. (Terminally ill youngster wanted lights in his yard.)
  • REDDIE TO HELP: Soles for Souls project. (In cooperation with Delta State Softball.)
  • REDDIE TO TEACH: Arkadelphia P+R Sports Clinics lead by Dr. Thigpen. (Each Head Coach cooperated.)
  • REDDIE TO TEACH: Lady Reddie Kids Club led by Rhonda Thigpen. (Each Head Coach cooperated.)
  • NATIONAL WOMEN’S IN SPORTS DAY: Organized awareness of the contributions of past, present and challenged future female student-athletes from HSU.
  • HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL: The HPER club sponsors a SAFE Halloween activity along with several HSU organizations for local youth at the Garrison Center on campus.
  • HAIRCUTS FOR HEALTH: The HPER club sponsors a Health Awareness activity as a fun way of promoting health and wellness to HSU students.
